SHADOWS ON YELLOW
Try mixing shadow colours yourself by experimenting with different shades, but remember to keep notes of the results. Raw Umber and Cerulean blue make a good soft grey shadow, but when painting a yellow subject, such as a Daffodil or a banana, paint the shadows in first to sit under the yellow colour. Don’t worry, your shadows will still show through your glaze of colour, but if you paint a shadow on top of yellow which has blue in it, the colour will show with a green tint.
